One questionable associate I can write off. But in recent months we’ve been treated to Tony "the fixer" Rezko, unrepentant former terrorists William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, Reverend Jeremiah "Whitey created AIDS" Wright, and now Father Pfleger.
Okay, this is just a distraction from the quest for hope and change (and waffles), and it really doesn’t help Michelle’s children, but I have to ask:

It makes me wonder if its stuff like this that helps make him POPULAR with his voting base and not the other way around.
African Americans have long been jaded by the American government . The 18-24 year old age group is rife with the “I hate America” syndrome mostly because it’s trendy. If you actually have any sort of patriotism you’re labeled a Bush lover (of course, I grew up in Southern California, but I’m sure its not too different in other parts of the country). And then we have the elites who were raised or even took part in hippie culture.
I could see how all three of these groups would feed into this kind of stuff and how no amount of bad press could change their minds.
