Speaking before the National Council of La Raza yesterday, Barack Obama compared the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to those of terrorists:
Okay, O Prophet. I know there are problems with immigration enforcement in the US and there have been some cases of abuse, but "nursing mothers … torn from their babies?" I think that’s a little overheated, don’t you? And more than a little unfair. To compare the actions of US agents enforcing the laws of a democracy to those of head-chopping fascist religious fanatics is outrageous.
Here, read this. See how real terrorists operate. Read all four articles by a journalist who has witnessed real fascist savagery up close. Then I want you to stand up in front an audience and again tell us how US law enforcement agents are acting like terrorists.
You keep promising a new politics, but you keep spreading the same old bull.
Of course, this kind of vicious hyperbole is nothing new for Illinois senators. In fact, you probably learned from your senior senator, Dick Durbin, who famously compared US soldiers at Guantanamo to the forces of Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot:
You make a great team.
