The comprehensive case against Barack Obama

In case you’re undecided and don’t have time to read David Freddoso’s book, this post at Hot Air makes a good summary case of why we should not want Barack Obama to be president: CLOSING THE DEAL

Don’t be put off by the web site. Yes, Hot Air is solidly and loudly conservative. But, Ed Morrissey and Mary Katherine Ham are fair-minded writers. (I’m not familiar with the third writer, Guy Benson.) Their arguments are thoughtful, not sensational. They talk, rather than scream. They back up their arguments with Obama’s own words. I think it’s well worth your time.

One note: The post isn’t wholly comprehensive, since it leaves out Obama and the Democrats’ support for the Orwellian "Employee Free Choice Act," which, if passed, means the end of secret ballots in union elections. For more about this, read here, here, and, for a possible shock to those of you who remember George McGovern, here.

The battle of Pennsylvania

McCain-Palin is battling to flip Pennsylvania to the "red" column, and a 527 called Let Freedom Ring has a series of commercials out, making the points McCain himself has been reluctant to make. Here are two for the Keystone State. Roll’em, Tito!

 

I think they’re pretty effective and, Heaven knows, there’s fertile ground there given the contempt Obama, Biden, and their own congressman have show for western Pennsylvanians. Don’t forget, Hillary clobbered Obama here late in the primaries. I don’t think two many of those Democratic voters have changed their opinion of The One since then.

But, will it be enough?

Sarah Palin on CNN

A surprisingly good interview, given the network, but the reporter, Drew Griffin, has done good work covering ACORN’s shenanigans in Indiana — almost alone among the MSM. Anyway, I think Governor Palin handles herself well in this encounter and reinforces the notion that Team McCain made a mistake keeping her in a cocoon for those first few weeks after the convention. The silenced majority

• We believe that Barack Obama is a brilliant orator and a man possessed of more charisma than any politician since JFK.
• But we also believe that his philosophy of "spreading the wealth around" is an ill-disguised form of socialism that undermines everything America holds dear.
• We believe that a "tax cut on 95% of working Americans" when only 63% of Americans pay taxes is nonsensical.
• We believe that the Obama campaign’s obfuscated funding for ACORN (originally described as "event planning") undermines the integrity of our elections and calls into question the legality of his tactics.
• We believe that Barack Obama’s plan to form a "civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as our military is ill-considered at best.
• We believe that the Obama campaign’s efforts to intimidate WGN (on two separate occasions) when it interviewed his political foes endangers free speech.
