I was going to post something about the sixty-seventh anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, but I think what I wrote on the sixty-sixth anniversary is still fitting.
One additional thought, though: from that day until August, 1945, Japan, which was a brutal dictatorship, was our deadly enemy. Decades later, after occupation and reconstruction, they’re our close ally.
Keep that in mind when thinking of Iraq.
