RICO meets ACORN?

October 11, 2008

Just assertions at a pro-Hillary web site, mind you, but it does remind us that the same complaints we’re making now about the tactics of the pro-Obama ACORN are the same as those made by Clinton supporters during the primaries: fraudulent registration, intimidation, and other tools of "the Chicago Way."

It brings to mind thoughts of the relationship between smoke and fire.

And it also reminds us that there are a lot of angry Hillary supporters, self-proclaimed PUMAs (Party Unity My … Ahem), who will not vote for Obama come November. It makes me wonder if there is some sort of dissembling in play that makes the poll numbers meaningless.

Regardless, if there isn’t a racketeering investigation of ACORN underway, there should be. There are too many incidents in too many states not to suggest a centrally directed effort to register fraudulent voters.

And who was it who paid ACORN $800,000 this last summer? Oh, yeah.

But that’s just a distraction from Hope and Change. Rolling Eyes

Meet another of Barack Obama’s friends

October 11, 2008

Rashid Khalidi, terrorist spokesman, Obama donor, and recipient of money from the Woods Fund, on the board of which the Prophet Barack sat:

(hat tip: Ed Morrissey)

If Senator Obama had one or two screwball associates, I could give it a pass. But, look at this list: Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Tony Rezko, Todd Stroger, Richard J. Daley, Alice Palmer, Jeremiah Wright, Michael Pfleger, Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson… Google any of those names plus "Obama" and see what I mean. There is a disturbing pattern here.

It's not that I think Obama is some sort of crypto-commie or has been taking bribes. But he has shown a disgusting tolerance for vile behavior, and has benefited from that tolerance. Ayers and Dohrn made war on the US (that is, they tried to kill Americans) and, to this day, they hold hateful anti-American beliefs. Obama's political career began in their home. Rezko is a convicted felon who arranged a shady deal to help the Obamas buy their dream house. Alice Palmer was a Soviet-aligned communist. Stroger is the "boss" of Cook County. Wright and Pfleger are racist firebrands preaching a gospel of hate. Raines and Johnson were deeply involved in the corruption at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and they have been close advisers to the Obama campaign. Mayor Daley is … well, Obama endorsed the reelection of a Daley as Mayor of Chicago. 'Nuff said.

And Barack Obama benefited from knowing all these people. His political career was advanced through his association with them. It should bother anyone concerned about ethics in politics that Barack Obama was comfortable with these people. At the very least, it shows him to be ethically blind. Anything beyond that I leave as an exercise for the reader.

Ask yourself this: if John McCain or Sarah Palin had been buddies with Eric Rudolph or David Duke, wouldn't that disqualify them from high office? It would in my book.

I've harped on this a lot lately, but elections are about policies and character, and whom we ally with tells a lot about us. The pattern of Obama's associations and alliances tells us that he is comfortable with and tolerant of the extreme Left, racists, and machine-style corruption.

I do not want someone like that in the White House. Not talking
