The invaluable Zombie has compiled a list of prominent supporters of the Occupy movement, with links to sources. As you can see from the first five below, it’s quite a collection. Remember, these are the real “99-percent.”

2012 is the new 1984?

And I don’t mean George Orwell’s brilliant and horrific novel.

Rather, we once again will have a Democratic candidate campaigning openly on the need to raise taxes. Back then, it was Walter Mondale trying to unseat President Reagan. Now it’s President Obama, trying to keep his job against the challenge from… ??

Whoever the Republican nominee is, he would do well to look at the Reagan campaign’s old commercials for a winning message. Here’s one:

Change “Mondale” to “Obama” and the script is ready for shooting. Especially when Obama keeps claiming that we are, indeed, better off than we were four years ago.

Whatever he’s smoking, I want some.
