(Video) DNC throws American identity under the bus: “The Government Is The Only Thing We All Belong To!”

Via The Jawa Report, here’s a clip from a video shown today to delegates at the convention in Charlotte:

Well, there you go. Forget a common history or heritage. Shared ideals? Meaningless. The common struggle to build a self-governing republic of freeborn citizens around the concept of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? Don’t be silly!

According to the Democratic Party, the only thing that binds us together is government — the State.

Which implies, of course, that we prosper as a people only as government expands and does more for us, to bring us together. (Insert pious heavenward glance and a sigh of gratitude for government beneficence.) The flip side being that anyone who is against an ever-expanding government —which is the only thing that all of us have in common!—  is pretty much anti-American.

It’s official: the Democrats have become a European social democratic party. All that’s needed is official membership in the Socialist International. It’s the progressive vision laid bare for all to see.

I’ll give them credit: they’re at least more honest about this than their history on civil rights.
