(Video) Egyptian TV host and academic: the only solution is to burn the Jews

November 1, 2015

Remember kids, Jew-hatred is hardwired into Islam through its holy texts: the Qur’an, the hadiths (the sayings and deeds of Muhammad and his companions), and the learned commentary that’s accumulated over the last 1,400 years. Thus it shouldn’t really surprise us, even when it appalls us, to hear this on Egypt’s Al-Rhama TV, an Islamic religious channel there:

Here’s the transcript:

In a recent TV interview, host Dr. Muhammad Khaled and his guest, Islamic history professor Yusri Ahmad Zidan, agreed that burning was the “only solution” for the Jews. “The history of the Jews has been black since the dawn of time,” said Khaled. “Nebuchadnezzar burned them, the Crusaders burned them, and even Hitler and Nazism burned them. Is burning the only solution for the Jews?” he asked. “So it seems. So it seems,” Zidan concurred. The interview aired on the Egyptian Rahma TV channel on October 27, 2015.

Following are excerpts:

Yusri Ahmad Zidan: The Crusaders killed the Jews as well. They rounded them up in a house of worship, and burned it down. All the Jews who survived were sold.

TV host Dr. Muhammad Khaled: As slaves?

Yusri Ahmad Zidan: Every 30 Jews were sold for one dinar.

TV host Dr. Muhammad Khaled: That’s right.

Yusri Ahmad Zidan: The Crusaders sold the Jews who were saved from being killed. In that period, Jerusalem was left without Jews, of course.

TV host Dr. Muhammad Khaled: This is a trivial price, but obviously, that was what they were worth.

Yusri Ahmad Zidan: They treated them this way because they believed that the Jews had killed Jesus. The Crusaders treated the Jews this way because they believed that the Jews had harmed and killed Jesus.

TV host Dr. Muhammad Khaled: Dr. Zidan, the history of the Jews has been black since the dawn of time. Nebuchadnezzar burned them, the Crusaders burned them, and even Hitler and Nazism burned them. Is burning the only solution for the Jews?

Yusri Ahmad Zidan: So it seems. So it seems.

TV host Dr. Muhammad Khaled: No negotiations, coexistence, or anything…

Yusri Ahmad Zidan: It’s impossible.

TV host Dr. Muhammad Khaled: History tells us that they were burned time and again, taken into captivity time and again, and sold into slavery.

In other words, on a TV channel devoted to Islam and in a discussion with a learned doctor of Islamic History, the serious consideration of burning as being the “only solution” to the Jews was an acceptable topic. In Egypt, a “mainstream” Muslim-dominated country.

The only difference between these two and ISIS is that ISIS is acting on their beliefs.

If you ever wonder why the Palestinians aren’t fit to join the community of nations, just watch what their elites say on their television channels.

The first video is from the invaluable MEMRI. In it, a Dean of Quranic Studies at Gaza University, in other words, an expert on just what is and is not permissible in Islam, declares openly that is is halal (permitted) to kill Jewish women and children:

And yet some people have been surprised by the spate of knife attacks against Israelis.

Next is Sheikh Khaled Al-Mughrabi, who teaches Islam twice a week at the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, one of the holiest sites in Islam. In other words, his words carry some weight with believers. Per PalWatch, the Sheikh has a message for us: That the end of days cannot come until the Jews build a temple to the Devil inside the mosque, at which point the Muslims will kill all the Jews.

Are we all clear on that, now?

The only difference between the Palestinian elites and the ISIS leadership in one of degree, not of kind.

Europe has an antisemitism problem. A big one.

Never again?

Never again?

Synagogue attacks, graveyard desecrations, kidnap and torture, massacres in markets, and now mob assaults:

Two Jewish residents of Paris were assaulted on the street by a gang of about 40 people on Friday, Israeli French JSS News reported on Friday.

The attack against the two Jewish residents, both in their 20s, occurred about 2:30 p.m. on Boulevard Voltaire in Paris’ 11 arrondissement, according to the report.

Police launched an investigation into the incident and warned local Jewish businesses owners to be extra vigilant, JSS News said.

Witnesses on the scene said members of the Jewish community volunteered to watch over the many local Jewish businesses on Boulevard Voltaire, according to French antisemitism watchdog group the Bureau National de Vigilance Contre l’Antisemitisme.

The gang of attackers were associated with anti-Israel groups Gaza Firm and the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign, said security personnel responsible for protecting the Jewish community.

One has to wonder how long the Jews will choose to remain, out of sheer self-preservation?

Breaking: Paris massacre caused by shape-shifting Jews looking to frame Muslims

But, of course:

He also called the Paris terrorist attacks “un complot,” or conspiracy, and launched into a lengthy explanation of the “magical Jews” behind it. They were not ordinary Jews, he said, but a “hybrid race of shape shifters” who have extraordinary abilities. “They know how to get in everywhere,” he said. “They are master manipulators.”

Oh, those wacky Jews! I wish I had their cool powers!

Bearing in mind that this Great Thinker is also a self-confessed drug-dealer,we might be inclined to write his theory off as the ravings of a nut-job. And, in fact I wouldn’t be surprised to learn he’s been sampling his own wares a bit too much.

However, it’s also true that Arab Islamic society loves conspiracy theories, since it lets the believer take the role of the victim and avoid facing the real pathologies (self-)afflicting his or her world. For example, did you know Jews can cause earthquakes, or that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion are works of science?  And this is not a recent development: Jew-hatred is common in the Qur’an, Islam’s foundational text. As the late Sheikh Tantawi, former Grand Mufti of Egypt and head of al-Azhar university (in other words, a deep scholar of Islam) wrote:

[The] Qur’an describes the Jews with their own particular degenerate characteristics, i.e. killing the prophets of Allah, corrupting His words by putting them in the wrong places, consuming the people’s wealth frivolously, refusal to distance themselves from the evil they do, and other ugly characteristics caused by their deep-rooted lasciviousness…only a minority of the Jews keep their word….[A]ll Jews are not the same. The good ones become Muslims, the bad ones do not. (Qur’an 3:113)

You can read the rest in a long, but worthwhile dissertation on Islamic antisemitism here, or just buy the book. With thousands of years of tradition and orthodox theology lending their approval, is it any wonder it’s so easy to blame the Jews for anything, no matter how nutty?

Even when killers shout “Allahu akbar!” and “We have avenged The Prophet!” or train with al-Qaeda in Yemen.

PS: Yes, I know we have our own conspiracy nuts. Try searching “fire can’t melt steel” sometime. But, thankfully, these freaks are far less common here, though still dang annoying. In the Arab Islamic societies of the Middle East, on the other hand…

Conspiracy Craziness: John McCain created ISIS, and the “Caliph” is a Jewish agent

December 13, 2014

We’ve long known of the Muslim world’s fetish for conspiracy theories, but this one is a real gem. On an Egyptian television show last November, Jamal al-Din Ibrahim (1) claimed that the Islamic State was a creation of John McCain and that its leader, the “Caliph” Abu-Bakar al-Baghdadi, was trained by Mossad. And, if that wasn’t enough, he involved British Intelligence (an old bugbear among Middle Eastern conspiracy fans) and American traitor Edward Snowden.

Professor or not, Mr. al-Din is an expert in nuttiness:

Here’s an excerpt from the transcript:

Jamal Al-Din Ibrahim: ISIS has two meaning – an over meaning and the true meaning. On the face of it, ISIS means “Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.”

Interviewer: This is how they called it at the beginning.

Jamal Al-Din Ibrahim: Yet the same acronym can stand for “Israeli Secret Intelligence Service.”

This information comes from Edward Snowden, who is now a wanted man…

Interviewer: That’s the guy from the NSA…

Jamal Al-Din Ibrahim: Exactly. He said that this was a means to drag the Arab world into a quagmire, and at the same time, to get rid of all the terrorists in a clever way, in keeping with the ways of British intelligence.

This is a picture of Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, right? That’s his picture with John McCain, right?

Interviewer: Exactly. Oh my!

Jamal Al-Din Ibrahim: And that’s his picture with various Arab organizations… Isn’t that his assistant, Muhammad Noor?

Interviewer: Yes, on the right.

Jamal Al-Din Ibrahim: Show us the previous picture again. There’s something fishy there. That’s his meeting with John McCain.

Interviewer: Yes, from about two years ago.

Jamal Al-Din Ibrahim: The guy with the camera is [Baghdadi’s] assistant, Muhammad Noor.

Interviewer: Right.

Jamal Al-Din Ibrahim: This proves that John McCain was establishing ISIS two years ago, when the Syrian revolution started. That’s him over there. ISIS leader, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi…

There are many annoying things about Senator McCain, but, somehow, I don’t think establishing a head-chopping Islamic revival movement is among them.

Sadly, this kind of thinking is all too common in the Muslim world, which wallows in a blame-others victim-hood.

(1) Who claims to be a former University of California. If so, it was probably at Irvine, where the anti-Israel and antisemitic craziness is strong.

First a master race, now a master faith

September 19, 2014

Via Jihad Watch, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu describes clearly the intellectual parallel between a certain mid-20th century totalitarianism and Islamic supremacism:

In a speech on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu compared Islamist terrorist groups such as ISIS, Hamas and Hezbollah to Nazis: “We know this. We’ve seen this before. There’s a master race; now there’s a master faith.”

“The tactics are uniform. Terror first of all against your own people,” Netanyahu told attendees at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism’s (ICT) 14th annual conference held at Herzliya, an Israeli technology center located about six miles north of Tel Aviv.

“There’s a master race; now there’s a master faith. And that allows you to do anything to anyone, but first of all to your own people and then to everyone else,” Netanyahu continued, in a reference to Nazi ideology stemming from Adolf Hitler’s belief, detailed in his speeches and writings, that Aryans were the “master race.”

“And what do you do to everyone else? For that you use new techniques. And the new techniques involve first of all, taking over civilian populations, putting yourself inside civilian areas, contravening the laws of war and the Geneva Convention; using your people as human shields, the same people you execute; and then firing indiscriminately at civilians. You hide behind civilians, you fire on civilians. And you fire rockets and missiles.

And then he touches on the essential moral difference between Western civilization and that of the jihadists:

“All of Israel mourned on September 11th. In Gaza, they were dancing on the roofs. They were handing out candy,” Netanyahu said. “That’s the moral divide. We mourn; they celebrate the death of thousands of innocents.

Netanyahu’s analysis is similar to the argument made by Natan Sharansky in his “The Case for Democracy:” that there is a fundamental divide between free societies, largely those of the West, and fear societies, such as those wherever sharia rules. Sharansky calls on leaders to have the moral clarity to see the difference between the two, and the moral courage to act accordingly.

Would that all Western leaders had the moral clarity of Mr. Netanyahu.

PS: The photo, by the way, is of Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and a virulent hater of Jews. He and Hitler got along quite swimmingly, and the Husseini even organized Islamic auxiliary troops for the Nazis in the Balkans. He was also Yasser Arafat’s uncle. Wonderful family.

Video: Pat Condell on “Why I support Israel”

July 27, 2014

This is from last June, but, given current events in the Levant, Pat’s words are still relevant. He certainly speaks for me:

In the Washington Free Beacon, Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes (whom we’ve met before) is quoted as saying the administration is seeking “a common place” between Israel and Hamas to “stop the violence.”

Try as I might, I’m having a real hard time imagining a “common place” between one side that says “I want to live in peace with you” and another that says “I want you dead.”

Afterthought: “Stop the violence” is one of those mealy-mouthed phrases that bug the heck out of me. By not assigning responsibility, it declares everyone to blame and places the Israelis on the same moral level as their Muslim attackers, which is utter tripe. Hamas started this fight by firing rockets at civilians and even a nuclear reactor. Theirs is the responsibility, theirs is the blame, and there is no moral equivalence between the two. You want to “stop the violence,” Mr. Rhodes? Then disarm Hamas.

By The Way: And speaking of disarming Hamas, the latest ceasefire proposal from Secretary Kerry would have allowed Hamas to keep their rockets. With friends like these, Israel needs no enemies.
