Payback: France bombs Raqqa, ISIS’ “capital.”

La guerre commence.

After the jihadist atrocities in Paris last Friday, French President Hollande promised retribution: “pitiless war” was the term he used.

Today France began to make good on his promise:

French fighter jets bombed a series of ISIS sites in Raqqa, Syria, on Sunday in what officials described as a major bombardment.

The airstrikes came two days after a series of terrorist attacks in Paris. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attacks, which France’s President described as “an act of war.”

ISIS claims Raqqa as the capital of its so-called caliphate. The targets in Sunday’s airstrikes included a command center, a recruitment center, an ammunition storage base and a training camp for the terror group, said Mickael Soria, press adviser for France’s defense minister.

Twelve aircraft, including 10 fighter jets, were involved in the airstrikes, Soria said. Twenty bombs were dropped, he said, and all of the targets were destroyed.

An ISIS media wing claimed the sites had been abandoned before they were hit and said there were no casualties.

Good. And I hope a large number of those brave knights of Islam were killed in the process. Even more, I hope this is just the start. Not just a raid or two, but boots on the ground with the mission to destroy these monsters, to hunt them down and kill them all. For the dead of Paris, for all those slaughtered by ISIS in Syria and Iraq, and for the women sold into slavery. No more gestures, no more light shows, no more marches “in solidarity,” for real solidarity now means picking up a gun.

ISIS delenda est.

I just wish our president would see fit to get involved in more than the pathetic, diffident manner he’s chosen so far.

Massacre in the City of Lights as the jihad comes to Paris. Update: deaths near 100

November 13, 2015

Vive la France!

Damn these monsters to Hell:

Paris is gripped by terror tonight as multiple, apparently coordinated attacks have unfolded in the French capital.

As many as a dozen people were killed as multiple gunmen opened fire on a busy restaurant in Paris: Le Petit Cambodge, a popular Cambodian eatery at Rue Ailbert and Rue Bichat. A witness who was at the restaurant, which was crowded on a Friday night, told FRANCE24 that she heard about 25-30 shots.

There were also two explosions, perhaps grenades, just outside of the national stadium.

French President Francois Hollande was reportedly attending a soccer match between France and Germany at the Stade de France when the attacks occurred, and was evacuated safely. Hollande and the interior minister were coming together in an emergency meeting.

French TV is reporting that hostages have been taken at the Bataclan concert venue. There are also reported fatalities at the location.

Jihadis online are celebrating on Twitter under the hashtag #FranceUnderAttack.

Per a more recent update, the death toll has climbed to at least 40 as security forces deal with the emergency and try to rescue hostages.

France has declared martial law in Paris and sealed the country’s borders.

Memories are evoked of the Mumbai jihad atrocities of 2008.

Godspeed to the people of Paris and the security forces now in battle, and may France’s just retaliation be swift, devastating, and merciless.

This is war, not a police matter.

UPDATE: The death toll is climbing.

Agence France-Presse is reporting “around 100″ dead in the Bataclan concert venue at the conclusion of the hostage standoff.

President Obama issued a statement including the usual boilerplate about “bringing the perpetrators to justice.” There is only one justice that fits here, Mr. President, and it’s not a court of law:

Hunt them down and kill them all.

Back To The Dark Ages: Top French Weatherman Fired Over Climate Change Book

November 3, 2015

Apparently in France, “liberty, equality, fraternity” does not include the liberty to question dominant opinions. Equality does include equal rights of conscience and intellect. And fraternity ends when you question established dogma. Belief in man-caused global warming isn’t science: it’s a cult that demand unquestioning obedience, or you will be punished.

Watts Up With That?

From: France 24, 1 November 2015 (h/t to The GWPF)
A popular weatherman announced Saturday evening he has been sacked by leading French news channel France Télévisions for publishing a book which accused top climate change experts of misleading the world about the threat of global warming.

Philippe Verdier, a household name in France for his daily weather reports on the France 2 channel, announced in an online video that he had received a letter of dismissal.

“My book ‘Climate Investigation’ was published one month ago. It got me banned from the air waves,” said the weatherman, who was put “on leave” from the TV station on October 12.

“I received this letter this morning and decided to open it in front of you because it concerns everybody- in the name of freedom of expression and freedom of information.”

His announcement comes four days after France Télévisions chief Delphine…

France’s Top TV Weatherman Suspended for Criticising Climate Dogma

October 15, 2015

“Liberté, égalité, fraternité” –“Freedom, equality, and brotherhood”– is the famous French motto, but I guess it doesn’t apply to intellectual freedom when discussing global warming.

Watts Up With That?

Liberté, égalité, fraternité - except when it comes to climate change Liberté, égalité, fraternité – except when it comes to climate change

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

h/t fobdangerclose and ralfellis – Philippe Verdier, weather chief at France Télévisions, the country’s state broadcaster, has been suspended for publicly criticising Climate Alarmism.

According to The Telegraph;

Every night, France’s chief weatherman has told the nation how much wind, sun or rain they can expect the following day.

Now Philippe Verdier, a household name for his nightly forecasts on France 2, has been taken off air after a more controversial announcement – criticising the world’s top climate change experts.
Mr Verdier claims in the book Climat Investigation (Climate Investigation) that leading climatologists and political leaders have “taken the world hostage” with misleading data.

In a promotional video, Mr Verdier said: “Every night I address five million French people to talk to you about the wind, the clouds and the sun. And yet there…

More on the French train attack

August 22, 2015

“Nice work.”

Just to clarify some items from yesterday, since first reports, as almost always, were wrong. There were three Americans involved in taking down the jihadi: one civilian, one Air Force, and one National Guardsman, who’d recently returned from Afghanistan. The report that they were Marines probably originated with the French, the usual fog and confusion in a crisis.

Regardless of their specific status, however, I think we can all agree these men are undeniable badasses:

A gunman opened fire on a high-speed train traveling from Amsterdam to Paris on Friday, wounding two people before three American passengers subdued him, according to officials and one of the Americans involved.

French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, speaking in Arras in northern France where the suspect was detained, said one of the American passengers was hospitalized with serious wounds.

Two of the Americans were in the military, according to their traveling companion and childhood friend Anthony Sadler, a senior at Sacramento State University. He told The Associated Press that the injured American was Spencer Stone of the Sacramento area and the other was Alek Skarlatos of Roseburg, Oregon.

“We heard a gunshot, and we heard glass breaking behind us, and saw a train employee sprint past us down the aisle,” Sadler said from France, describing the drama. Then, they saw a gunman entering the train car with an automatic rifle, he said.

“As he was cocking it to shoot it, Alek just yells, ‘Spencer, go!’ And Spencer runs down the aisle,” Sadler said. “Spencer makes first contact, he tackles the guy, Alek wrestles the gun away from him, and the gunman pulls out a box cutter and slices Spencer a few times. And the three of us beat him until he was unconscious.”

Another passenger helped tie the gunman up, and Stone then helped another passenger who had been wounded in the throat and losing blood, Sadler said.

“The gunman never said a word,” he added.

The Pentagon described Stone’s injuries as not life-threatening.

This should also serve as a reminder that the jihad, their war on us, hasn’t ended, and that any place at any time could become a battlefield.

They’re still trying to kill us.

All in a day’s work: US Marines take down AK-wielding gunman in French railroad station. Update: one Marine in critical

August 21, 2015

Marine Corp emblem

I’m sure the unidentified would-be mass murderer (1) had the plan all worked out in his mind: Obtain automatic weapon, sneak it onto the Paris-Amsterdam train, and kill lots of people. Simple, right? But there was one small thing he didn’t account for…

The presence of US Marines on the same train:

La Voix du Nord, a newspaper in the Calais region, said a man was arrested on suspicion of firing the [Kalashnikov] on a Thalys train near the northern town of Arras.

Police say that have not ruled out terrorism as a possible motive and Bernard Cazeneuve, the French interior minister, has been summoned to the region.

The gunman, said to be of “North African origin,” is said to have been “taken down” by a group of US marines onboard the train.

(…)

According to Voix du Nord, the marines heard what appeared to be the sound of a gun being loaded coming from the toilets on the train.

They tried to detain him and the man fired, wounding three people, two of whom were struck by bullets, the newspaper reported.

Rather than freeze or run and hide, the Marines’ training kicked in and they “ran to the sound of the guns,” thus probably saving many, many lives. And remember, the three Marines were unarmed, while the jih… er… unidentified gunman had an AK. That was not a fair fight.

For the gunman.

Footnote:
(1) I have my suspicions as to his identity, as I’m sure you do, but I’ll wait for confirmation.

UPDATE: From the Daily Mail via Rick Moran, the shooter was a Moroccan national known to French authorities and who had attended radical mosques. I think it’s safe to say it, now: This was another attempt at jihad — Islamic terrorism waged fi sabil Allah, for Allah’s sake.

Initial reports indicated three Marines confronted the jihadi; according to the Mail, there were two. Regardless, the sad news is that one is in critical condition.

One of the hero Marines who foiled a planned terror attack on a French train was fighting for his life after being shot in the neck while disarming the crazed gunman on Friday.

The two unarmed servicemen spotted the 26-year-old Moroccan acting suspiciously and heard him trying to arm his weapon in the toilet of the high speed train between Amsterdam and Paris.

The gunman got on the train in Brussels and attempted his attack soon after crossing the French border.

The 26-year-old Moroccan national, who was known to security services, came out of the toilet brandishing the gun and opened fire. Fortunately, two US Marines were nearby and overpowered him before he could massacre passengers.

The suspected terrorist had at least nine full magazines of ammunition holding almost 300 rounds. He was also carrying a knife.

Unfortunately, one of the Marines was shot and is believed to be in a critical condition. It is feared that he was shot in the neck by the gunman.

The French Interior Minister was unstinting in his praise:

Speaking in Arras, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve praised the Marines for their timely intervention.

He said: ‘Thanks to them we have averted a drama.
‘(The Americans were) particularly courageous and showed extreme bravery in extremely difficult circumstances.’

They would probably say they were just doing their jobs.

Jihad: French foil plot to behead general

July 16, 2015

France flag

To paraphrase Trotsky: You may not be interested in the jihad, but the jihad is interested in you.

A gang of four “radicalised Muslims” were arrested on Monday by French specialist counter-terror police after a wiretap on one suspect handed officers intelligence on their general beheading plot. The plan was to make a symbolic attack on the military base that French special forces use to stage expeditionary troops for interventions in theatres like Mali and the Central African Republic. The gang aimed to kill on the 7th of January 2016, the first anniversary of the Charlie Hebdo killings in Paris, reports TheLocal.fr.

The gang, whose members were 16, 17, 19, and 23-years-old planned to film the killing on a high-definition ‘GoPro’ camera and upload the footage to the internet. The eldest member, called the ‘ringleader’ by police, was a former marine in the French navy discharged last year for ‘bad behaviour’. Calling himself ‘the Emir’, the radicalised Muslim apparently wanted revenge on his former bosses – and his military training may very well have left him a capable killer.

The plot was unveiled after the 17 year old member was placed under police surveillance because of his extremist activity on social media. Making contact with other ‘French’ Jihadists, some of whom are now in jail, the young would-be killer expressed a desire to go abroad to fight leading the police to wiretap his phone. Learning details of the plot to behead a senior soldier, they took the gang into custody on Monday.

Note the highlighting: one of those radicalized Muslims was former French military. In other words, as we’ve seen before, we are creating trained, disciplined soldiers who then turn against us. The question is inevitable: how far can the remaining Muslim soldiers in the French and other Western militaries be trusted? It’s an ugly question to ask, because it unavoidably tars those Muslims loyal to their countries, but neither can it be ignored. Not when one is familiar with the Islamic doctrines of wala wa bara (“Loyalty and Enmity”) and taqiyya — religiously sanctioned deception.

Western militaries have been the most successful for centuries because, in part, they have superb unit cohesion and discipline: each man in a unit can count on the other to do his job, and officers can rely on their troops to obey orders.

What happens, then, if a general can’t be sure if his troops will attack the enemy, or him?

Meanwhile, in Egypt: France isn’t the only one with a jihad problem, as ISIS warriors successfully fire a missile and set an Egyptian warship ablaze.
