Jews praying at the Western Wall is “sin and filth”

Note also the denial of Jewish history at the heart of the Jewish homeland:

Remember, it’s a Religion of Tolerance. (As long as you’re Muslim, male, and not gay.)

When a campaign imitates the Hindenburg

July 30, 2010

I linked to this yesterday, but it really deserves a post of its own. In a spectacular case of self-immolation, the campaign of Congressman Mike McMahon (D-NY) released a report detailing all the money his opponent was receiving from Jews:

Mike Grimm, a G.O.P challenger for Mike McMahon’s Congressional seat, took in over $200,000 in his last filing.

But in an effort to show that Grimm lacks support among voters in the district, which covers Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn, the McMahon campaign compiled a list of Jewish donors to Grimm and provided it to The Politicker.

The file, labeled “Grimm Jewish Money Q2,” for the second quarter fundraising period, shows a list of over 80 names, a half-dozen of which in fact do hail from Staten Island, and a handful of others that list Brooklyn as home.

“Where is Grimm’s money coming from,” said Jennifer Nelson, McMahon’s campaign spokeman. “There is a lot of Jewish money, a lot of money from people in Florida and Manhattan, retirees.”

Asked how the McMahon aide who compiled the report knew which donors were Jewish and which weren’t, Nelson replied:

“She herself is Jewish so she knows a lot of people in that community…”

I can picture it now, late at night at the McMahon campaign bunker HQ, the aide looking over the list and saying “Jew, Jew, Goy, Jew…”

After the firestorm broke, McMahon tried to salvage the situation by the time-honored “apologize and blame the staff” ploy, but somehow I don’t think it’s going to work. In fact, the real question is probably whether McMahon loses by 50 points or is forced by his Democratic colleagues, who are already terrified of November, to drop out of the race so they can field a replacement.

Just amazing.

AFTERTHOUGHT: And wouldn’t this be a nice opportunity to strike a blow against dirty politics by donating to McMahon’s opponent, Mike Grimm?

Antisemitic idiot: “I’m sorry, don’t hate my movies!”

July 27, 2010

Having made a jackass of himself over the weekend, film director Oliver Stone has apologized:

“In trying to make a broader historical point about the range of atrocities the Germans committed against many people, I made a clumsy association about the Holocaust, for which I am sorry and I regret.

“Jews obviously do not control media or any other industry. The fact that the Holocaust is still a very important, vivid and current matter today is, in fact, a great credit to the very hard work of a broad coalition of people committed to the remembrance of this atrocity — and it was an atrocity.”

Call me a cynic, but I think this apology was motivated less by a sincere regret for saying hurtful and untrue things than by a sincere regret that those hurtful and untrue things became publicly known. After all,  Stone still is bosom buddies with Hugo Chavez, himself a devout antisemite.

Roman Polanski, Mel Gibson, and Oliver Stone. What a trio to represent Hollywood, eh?  Rolling Eyes

Oliver Stone: “I am an idiot!”

July 26, 2010

Well, he didn’t say that in so many words, but that’s the takeaway from the antisemitic, Hitler-apologetic interview he gave to the UK’s Sunday Times decrying Jewish domination of the media:

Director Oliver Stone belittled the Holocaust during a shocking interview with the Sunday Times today, claiming that America’s focus on the Jewish massacre was a product of the “Jewish domination of the media.”

The director also defended Hitler and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and railed against the “powerful lobby” of Jews in America.

Stone said that his upcoming Showtime documentary series “Secret History of America,” seeks to put Hitler and Communist dictator Joseph Stalin “in context.”

“Hitler was a Frankenstein but there was also a Dr Frankenstein. German industrialists, the Americans and the British. He had a lot of support,” Stone told reporter Camilla Long during the interview, which can be found behind the paywall on the Sunday Times’ website.

Henry Ford was an antisemite, but that’s a long way from being a genocidal maniac, and Stone’s cry for “context” seems to be nothing more than a way to soften the crimes of two of History’s worst monsters. But Stone isn’t just fond of long-dead dictators; he has a soft spot for modern tyrants, too, such as Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez:

The Scarface screenwriter had even more encouraging words for socialist Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, who Stone called “a brave, blunt, earthy” man. The director has recently been promoting his Chavez-praising documentary called “South of the Border.”

When the interviewer pointed out that Chavez has had a less-than-stellar record on human rights, Stone immediately dismissed the criticism.

“The internet’s fully free [in Venezuela],” said Stone. “You can say what the hell you like. Compare it with all the other countries: Mexico, Guatemala, above all Colombia, which is a joke.”

While Stone has not been as blunt about his views on Jews and the Holocaust in the past, he has been outspoken in his fondness for Chavez and his disagreements with the U.S.’s policy on Iran.

Oh yeah, he hearts President Gilligan Ahmadinejad, too.

It’s hard to work up any outrage over this -Stone’s been known as a conspiracy nut for years- but it’s still pathetic that someone holding these views can become influential in Hollywood. Sadly, in a town that a) leans strongly to the Left and b) can lionize the likes of Roman Polanski, I suspect this nauseating interview won’t hurt his career too much at all.

TANGENT: It’s a shame the Times has gone behind a paywall. I’ve heard (but haven’t had confirmed) that online readership is way down, as people refuse to pay the price. Perhaps the publishers will relent and make their site freely accessible once again.

UPDATE: Not surprisingly, the American Jewish Committee has denounced Oliver Stone:

“By invoking this grotesque, toxic stereotype, Oliver Stone has outed himself as an anti-Semite,” said AJC Executive Director David Harris. “For all of Stone’s progressive pretensions, his remark is no different from one of the drunken, Jew-hating rants of his fellow Hollywood celebrity, Mel Gibson.”

Jews for Palin

April 18, 2010

One of the great mysteries of recent years for me has been the loyalty of American Jews toward Barack Obama. After all, he sat for over 20 years in the pews of a church run by a racist, anti-Semitic preacher. He and his wife were married by the guy, and his daughters baptized by him. He was (and perhaps still is) close friends with a former mouthpiece for Yasser Arafat. Obama is borderline hostile toward Israel and was shockingly rude toward Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Yet American Jews are just thrilled with him. Why? You’ve got me. Maybe the strong lean toward social liberalism among American Jews trumps the other stuff.

But that does seem to be changing, though William Jacobson remains unconvinced. But maybe the change is real, and the tide is turning. A new group opened their doors today: Jewish Americans for Sarah Palin. Their mission statement reads:

Jewish Americans for Sarah Palin is an independent group of academic, religious and political leaders, dedicated to promoting consideration of Gov. Sarah Palin’s political positions in the wider American Jewish community.

We find Ms. Palin’s policy positions on Israel, Iran, national security, fiscal responsibility, energy, and social policy – as well as her record on these issues as governor of Alaska and candidate for Vice President of the United States – to be serious, substantive and politically mainstream.

Though not at present a candidate for any political office, Gov. Palin’s track record in public office has been exemplary, and has withstood the test of the most demanding scrutiny of investigative news media. Gov. Palin’s ongoing contribution to the public discourse in America is welcome.

The former governor has time and again shown an ability to get under the President’s thin skin. Now a portion of a group thought safely in the Obama and Democratic camp has come out in support of her and strongly against him:

In recent days, prominent Jewish leaders and other Jewish political figures have publicly challenged President Obama’s foreign policy in terms that were unimaginable only a few weeks ago.  Former New York City mayor Ed Koch, a life-long Democrat, has excoriated the president for “demeaning and slandering” Israel. “There is a foul whiff of Munich and appeasement in the air,” Koch writes.

Anti-Defamation League leader Abraham Foxman has raised the prospect of a Jewish march on Washington to protest Obama’s tilt against Israel.  World Jewish Congress president Ronald Lauder has taken out full-page ads in major American newspapers to criticize Obama for pressuring Israel to retreat to the “indefensible borders” of 1967.

Democratic U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee,  has characterized the president’s refusal to include militant Islam in his list of terror promoters as “offensive” and said it “contradicts thousands of years of accepted military and intelligence doctrine to ‘know your enemy.’ “

President Obama’s disgraceful personal treatment of Israel’s prime minister on his official visits to Washington, and the ugly personal tone that the president himself has injected into U.S.-Israel relations, has angered even many of his supporters and driven Obama’s personal popularity to an all-time low among the Israeli public.

The suddenness of the president’s change in his policies toward Israel, after having  campaigned vociferously in 2008 as a friend of the Jewish State, has caught many in the American Jewish community off-guard.  No longer.

We believe it is time for American Jews to declare independence from President Barack Obama.

This should have him cursing Palin and reaching for the Marlboros, no doubt.

And now for your Friday evening Jew hatred

March 26, 2010

Apes, pigs, fathers of rats. Hey, it was just a matter of time before some cleric of the Religion of Tolerance came out and said what they really mean. Preach it, Brother Jarbu’!

The Jews, the brothers of apes and pigs, have gathered from all corners of the world, in order to defile the Al-Aqsa Mosque. They have come to rob it of its purity, and they replaced it with their impurity, their filth, and their abomination. The Al-Aqsa Mosque… Along come the criminal Zionists, and open the so-called Hurva (“destruction”) synagogue. May Allah bring their homes down on them.

[…]

You cannot go on living, oh Arab and Islamic nation, while the Al-Aqsa Mosque is being defiled by the Jews, the most despicable people on this Earth. By Allah, they are not human beings. They are not men who deserve to live, as long as we are alive.

In case the name rings a bell, we’ve met Abdallah Jarbu’ before. Charming fellow. I bet he has a copy of Mein Kampf on the table next to his bed.

Oh, the irony

October 3, 2009

Iranian Fruitcake-in-chief President Ahmadinejad, a devout antisemite who has called for the destruction of Israel and the Holocaust a myth,  was himself born Jewish.

Overcompensating a bit, Mahmoud?

UPDATE AND GRAVE DISAPPOINTMENT: It may not be true.
